Mårten Larsson

Deputy director general, bioeconomy & international forestry issues

“The EU has a lot going on as regards forests. For Sweden, the important issues include sustainability criteria for solid fuels and whether the land-use sector should continue to have separate statistics or be included in the so-called non-trading sector.”

Sustainable forestry and forests as a part of the solution to the climate problem both fall into Mårten's area of expertise. Currently, he is the chair of the working group for the national forest programme tackling the overall question: "How, for the benefit of a sustainable society, do we maximise value creation in the forest's value chain from forest to consumer?"
