The Swedish forest industry welcomes the new decisions regarding Russian timber export duty. However, at this point it is too early to say how it will influence roundwood in the Swedish market, it depends on conjuncture and price development. The markets had adapted to an almost closed Russian market but with predictable prices the Russian deliveries in the Baltic Sea-area can obviously increase which will influence Sweden both directly and indirectly.
Further information from the commission regarding details in the agreement is expected in the middle of December.
