International Wood Programme

The International Wood Programme promotes wood and wood
products in markets of particular interest to member companies
in Sweden. All marketing is based around sustainable forestry.

The goal of the International Wood Programme is to increase the
value of the Swedish Forest Industries Federation member
companies’ exports and to strengthen the image of the Swedish
sawmill industry and Swedish wood products abroad. All international
work takes place in cooperation with other European organisations.
An international group consisting mainly of directors of marketing
from a number of member companies governs the international
initiatives.

In 2007, the Swedish Forest Industries Federation intends to focus on
five market areas in the international wood programme:

UK
Wood for good. in cooperation with British organisations Confor and
Forestry Commission.

Le bois, c’est essential, in cooperation with the French industry
organisation CNDB.

Asia
European Wood Initiative, in collaboration with promotion organisations
in France, Germany and Austria.

Baltic region
Baltic 21, in collaboration with the Swedish Federation of Forest Owners
and Estonian and Latvian industry organisations Puuinfo and LFIF.

Collaboration in the European project Roadmap 2010.
