Swedish Wood Programme

Page last reviewed/updated: 22/12/2009 11:17
The home market for Swedish sawmill companies includes about six million m3 of sawn timber (building or processed). The Swedish wood programme aims to influence attitudes toward wood and the woodworking industries and to increase knowledge about building with wood.

The Swedish wood programme is aimed at both professionals and
the public, with a focus on building. The Woodworking Industries
Board of Directors is responsible for the programme and its financing.
All projects are based on close collaboration with other players.

The Swedish Wood Programme consists of:

  • TräGuiden – online building instructions.
  • Träpriset 2008 – architecture prize awarded every four years.
  • Träinformation – magazine aimed at the construction and real estate
sector and sent free of charge to subscribers four times a year.
  • Bygg i trä – joint project with the Swedish Building Material and Timber
Trade Federation. The project produces construction descriptions that
can be obtained from the Building Material and Timber Trade Federation
    or downloaded online.
  • Swedish Wood Building Council – collaboration of the Swedish Forest
Industries Federations, the Wood and Furniture Industry Association,
the Swedish Forest and Wood Trade Union and the Ministry for Industry,
Employment, and Communications, to promote the use of modern wooden
buildings in the Swedish building market.
