And Alibaba Group ships an astonishing 12 million parcels a day. We think it is safe to say that the demand for packaging isn't likely to drop in the coming years.

E-commerce continues to expand worldwide and in Europe it is expected to increase by 14% annually until 2021. With a growing middle class and an increase in online trade, the demand for packaging is likely to grow in the coming years.

Indeed, the current unboxing video trend seen online clearly demonstrates just what an important role packaging plays in the consumer's shopping experience. And it also strengthens the argument that packaging is key from a brand perspective.
