"Forestry and forest products are becoming increasingly clear in EU policy. Insights on the ability of bio-based products to store coal and replace fossil materials begin to sink. The links between a growing bioeconomy and society challenges such as combating climate change, developing a circular bioeconomy and contributing to sustainable development are becoming increasingly apparent."

Sustainable forestry and forests as part of the solution to mitigate climate change both fall into Mårten's area of expertise. As responsible for the forest industry's work in the EU, he is currently focusing on increasing and broadening the dialogue on how to create growth in the world's bioeconomy.
