Transport

The forest industry is Sweden’s largest transport purchaser, as shown by the statistics presented here. The industry carries out short- and long-distance transports, the former by road and rail and the latter by sea. The industry’s efforts to reduce transport emissions include the maximum utilisation of rail transport and the electrification of road transports.

Since the raw material is found in the forest, most transport takes place by lorry – at least the first few kilometres
